Leon’s Leaf Project is a sustainability initiative to reforest areas in Canada affected by wildfires. As one of the country’s largest and most recognized furniture retailers, Leon’s took action to protect forests and support future generations. Through this campaign, customers were invited to visit a donation webpage to contribute funds—starting at $5—to purchase seedlings, which were planted in partnership with Tree Canada.
As an in-house graphic designer, I was responsible for designing the project logo and creating visual assets for the campaign page on the company website. The marketing team sought a design that highlighted the campaign’s focus on trees while maintaining a friendly, approachable tone to encourage customer participation and donations.
To ensure a clear connection to Leon’s, I incorporated the original Leon’s logo into the Leaf Project logo. Bright, uplifting green tones complement Leon’s signature yellow, and a small tree illustration clearly represents the reforestation initiative.
In addition to the logo, I designed web graphics for the donation button and page background, using a warm, kind colour palette and consistent leaf illustrations to maintain visual cohesion. A tree illustration with heart-shaped leaves was created as part of the background graphics, symbolizing appreciation for donors and love for Canada.
As of January 2026, the Leon’s Leaf Project has contributed to the planting of 51,683 trees, and the campaign continues to be featured on the Leon’s website.
